Stone Polisher

REPORTS TO: Production Manager REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School or GED – experience may replace education

Experience: Six months to one year of experience handling stone

Skills: Knowledge of raw materials by name/color/thickness; able to recognize flaws or defects in stone; able to judge levels of finish; attention to detail; able to follow instructions

License: Ability to obtain a forklift license with 30 days of hire

Physical: Able to push or pull up to 50 lbs. Use of arms and hands. Good eyesight, including depth and color perception and peripheral vision. Physical dexterity to operate polisher evenly over entire surface

Mental: Able to read and interpret plans & diagrams

TASKS AND DUTIES OF JOB:
  • Position stone slabs on table for polishing
  • Select appropriate grit pads in sequence
  • Polish entire slab to appropriate finish
  • Cut stone with hand cutter as required
  • Inspect and maintain polisher as needed
  • Maintain appropriate hour and production records as instructed by the Supervisor
  • Clean the shop as needed, maintaining the workplace in an organized and orderly manner
  • Work overtime as needed to meet production schedules
  • Perform all other Tasks and Duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
  MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Cooperate with management and other employees; develop and demonstrate teamwork
  • Maintain excellent quality with all finished materials
  • No additional costs are incurred to employee error
  • Contribute to the overall success of the company

Stone Fabricator

REPORTS TO: Production Manager REQUIREMENTS:

Experience: Two to three years of experience with stone fabrication.

Skills: Knowledge of raw materials by name/color/thickness; able to recognize flaws or defects in stone; able to judge levels of finish; attention to detail; able to follow instructions

License: Ability to obtain a forklift license with 30 days of hire

Physical: Able to push or pull up to 50 lbs. Use of arms and hands. Good eyesight, including depth and color perception and peripheral vision. Physical dexterity to operate polisher evenly over entire surface

Installer

REPORTS TO: Lead Installer REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School or GED

Experience: Three to Five years carpentry or installation experience

Skills: Basic carpentry skills aptitude

License: Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; ability to operate forklift

Physical: Able to lift up to 80 lbs. Use of arms and hands. Good eyesight, including depth and color perception and peripheral vision. Able to pass random drug tests.  Able to maneuver construction sites on foot

Mental: Able to read and understand plans and diagrams

TASKS AND DUTIES OF JOB:
  • Provide timely, accurate deliveries of products to customers’ building sites
  • Interpret plans and diagrams to complete installations
  • Prepare stone products for installation including shaping and polishing as needed
  • Installs products according to plans, includes leveling and making joints as needed
  • Cuts holes for sinks, faucets, cook tops and other applications as needed
  • Properly work with silicone, epoxy, sealers, and other bonding agents
  • Perform truck maintenance and safety inspections
  • Loading & unloading of custom stone products
  • Maintain appropriate hour and production records as instructed by supervisor
  • Communicate with Supervisor on consistent basis with job and travel updates
  • Assist other departments as needed
  • Perform all other Tasks and Duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
  MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Cooperate with management and other employees and demonstrate teamwork
  • Complete assigned projects within time allocated by supervisor
  • No more than two moving violations within a three year period
  • No speeding tickets at or over 78 mph or 14 mph over the posted speed limit within the preceding 12 months
  • No additional costs are incurred due to employee error
  • Contribute to the overall success of the company

Installation Helper

REPORTS TO: Lead Installer   REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School or GED – experience may replace education
